HINTS AND PLAYING TIPS
Increase Dark alignment: After
finding the stowaway on the Ebon Hawk, select the "Get out of here, whoever
you are! Right now!" option. Talk to her before she leaves to catch her
again. Choose that dialog option again. Repeat this to increase your Dark
alignment.
Bastila's underwear: Equip Dark robes on Bastila. Remove them to see new
underwear.
Keep Sith Armor: After obtaining the Sith Armor, transfer it to another
person in your party and equip it when you choose to had it over at the end of
that quest.
Keep Sandpeople Robes: After obtaining the Sandpeople Robes, transfer it
to another person in your party and equip it when you choose to had it over at
the end of that quest.
Hidden level up: On the first level, when you just get out of the fight
with the dark Sith, he gives you a key. It is to the cargo room on your speeder.
When you get inside that cargo room, go behind the lightsabers to find a level
up.
Curing Rakghoul without Serum: To cure Rakghoul without drinking the
Serum and having to find another one, approach a random person. Talk to them and
say goodbye. You should be instantly healed. If you are not instantly healed,
your green bar should disappear in the matter of seconds. Note: This will not
restore health; find a Healer or use Medic Packs.
Keep the Sith Armor: Once you obtain the armor and complete the
associated quest, equip it to another party member when you select the option of
handing it over.
Keep the Sandpeople Robes: Once you obtain the robes and complete the
associated quest, equip it to another party member when you select the option of
handing it over.
Easy Path to the Dark Side: When you discover the stowaway aboard the
Ebon Hawk, select the option Get out of here, whoever you are! Right now!! Then,
before she leaves, talk to here again and select the same option. Continue to
repeat as you gain 1 Dark Side point each time.
Fun with Bastila's Wardrobe: Equip Bastila with dark robes and then
remove them to see her in slightly different underwear.
Hidden names: When using the random name generator, press it enough times
and you will get character names from the Homestar Runner cartoons, such as
"Homsar" and "Kerreck." It might take a few tries to find
these.
Alternate ending sequence: Reach the final battle with Darth Malak, but do
not open the door yet. Press L + R on controllers one and four.
Change voice pitch: Hold Black or White on controller four during game
play to increase or decrease the pitch of the voice dialogue.
Hidden Ending: (Note: You need two controllers for this trick) With your
primary controller plugged into ports 1, 2 or 3 have a second controller plugged
into port 4. Before you enter the final battle with Darth Malak (do NOT open the
door), pull both the 'L' and 'R' buttons on both controllers for a secret
ending.
Voice Modulation: (Note: You need two controllers for this trick) With
your primary controller plugged into ports 1, 2 or 3 have a second controller
plugged into port 4. While playign the game, press the black or white button on
the second controller to raise and lower the pitch of the in-game voices.
RANCOR
Getting past the Rancor: When you see the Rancor that is facing away from
your team in the large room, take only one of team members and put the other in
the "Apartment". You should only have "yourself" and Mission
Vao. At the entrance of the large room facing the Rancor (with his back turned),
take over Mission. Turn on the invisible camouflage and move Mission towards the
door the Rancor is facing. Move Mission to the right side of the Rancor where
his right foot is far enough back so she can pass. After moving past the Rancor,
go to the door, open it, and notice two guards. Toss two plasma grenades at
them, then finish them off with Mission's blaster. Turn around and move fairly
close to the Rancor. Open fire on the Rancor to keep it distracted. Switch to
your character and follow the same route that Mission took. The Rancor will be
too distracted with Mission and will not notice you. Be sure not to touch the
Rancor. Once your character has made it where Mission is located, toss only frag
grenades. It will take between five to seven of them to kill the Rancor. You
will not have enough frags to kill the Rancor, but you can both move to the door
that the guards where watching and move to the next level. Finish off the Rancor
later and continue on.
Defeating the Rancor: In the room just before the Rancor, you will notice
a dismembered arm. Search the arm, and you will receive an item (odor) that is
supposed to lure the Rancor somewhere. Go into the Rancor room, approach the
corpse pile, and search it. Take all the items. Search it again, then press X to
enter "give" mode. Put in one frag grenade and one of the smelly
synthesizers you got from the dismembered arm. Exit the item screen. The Rancor
will approach the corpse pile, eat it, and explode. This saves you from
fighting, keeps your health, gives you more experience points, and also saves
you four or five grenades.
