BUTTON
COMBINATION CHEATS
NTSC and PAL are versions of the game for different
regions. Check the game box or instructions to find out which
version you have... If in doubt, try both sets of cheats.
Note: These cheats assume that the buttons are in the default
configuration.
LEVEL SKIP: NTSC VERSION
Get Lara perform the following actions during game play.
Sidestep left, sidestep right, sidestep left, walk one step
back, and walk one step forward. Release R1, then spin at
least three times in a complete circle in any direction.
Finally, jump forwards and turn around in mid-air by pressing
Up + Square, Circle.
Lara will freeze in mid-air to confirm.
LEVEL SKIP: PAL VERSION
Get Lara perform the following actions during game play.
Press L2 to light a flare.Walk one step forward, walk one step
back. Release R1, then spin at least three times in a complete
circle in any direction. Jump forward by pressing Up + Square.
Lara will freeze in mid-air to confirm.
ALL WEAPONS: NTSC VERSION
Get Lara perform the following actions during game play.
Sidestep left, sidestep right, sidestep left, walk one step
back, and walk one step forward. Release R1, then spin at
least three times in a complete circle in any direction.
Finally, jump backwards and turn around in mid-air by pressing
Down + Square, Circle.
The sound of Lara holstering her guns during the back flip
will confirm.
ALL WEAPONS: PAL VERSION
Get Lara perform the following actions during game play.
Press L2 to light a flare. Walk one step forward, walk one
step back. Release R1, then spin at least three times in a
complete circle in any direction. Jump back by pressing Down +
Square
The sound of Lara holstering her guns during the back flip
will confirm.
Help for the above cheats: To sidestep, hold R2 and press
the D-Pad in the indicated direction. To walk, hold R1 and
press the D-pad in the indicated direction. Both R1 and R2
should be released when spinning or jumping.
INFINITE FLARES
With this cheat, a flare will appear, even if none are
in Lara's inventory.
First of all, enable the 'Level skip' or 'All weapons' codes
(see above).
Now, press Triangle to draw Lara's guns and press L2.
EXPLODING LARA
Get Lara to perform the following actions during game
play.
Walk one step forward, one step backward, hold walk while
spinning three times in a complete circle in any direction,
and jump backward.
HINTS AND PLAYING TIPS
Flip in the air: Instead of jumping forward or backward
and pressing Roll immediately, press the opposite direction.
For example, if you jump forward, immediately press Down and
Lara will do a flip in the air. Do the opposite if you jump
backwards.
Dive into water: Jump forwards, but hold R1 + Square.
Note: If done onto hard ground or off high ledges, Lara will
break her neck and die.
Diving flip: After you do a dive (Forward + Square +
R1) off a tall cliff or something similar, press Circle while
in the air and Lara will flip.
Lara's secret cellar: Enter the hedge maze and follow
these turns: left, the second right, left, right, right, left,
right. Jump into the hole in the ground that appears and
follow the passageway until it ends. Take the the box of
flares, then push the button between the statues. Leave the
maze and enter the secret door next to the grandfather clock.
Move fast, as there is a time limit of one minute and twelve
seconds. Use your flares in the cellar to view Lara's
treasures.
Survive falls: If you fall from a reasonably high
ledge, hold Roll and you will roll immediately when you hit
the ground.
Gymnastic move while vaulting over ledges: Walk up to
the ledge, then hold Forward and press X to start climbing up.
Just after Laura starts climbing up, hold walk (R1). If done
correctly, she should pull up, flip up to a hand-stand, then
flip over onto her feet. Note: This does not make you climb
any better.
