-A-
Absol: Found on Route 120
Altaria (other than evolution): Found at the Sky Pillar.
Anorith or Lieep: In order to get Anorith or Lieep, you need to have the Go-Goggles. Go
to the desert, then move all the way to the right from the top. You will see two
fossils, One contains anorith (the claw fossil) and the other one is Lieep.
Anorith evolves into Armaldo, the Pokemon Steven has. Lieep evolves into Cradily,
which Steven also has.
Azurill: When you get the Sea Incense from Mt. Pyre, breed two Marill (male
and female). Give the female Marill the Sea Incense and put the two Pokemon in
the Daycare Center. When you get the egg, you will get only male Azurills. If
you gave the Sea Incense to the male Marill, you will only get female Azurills.
-B-
Bagon: Bagon is the first stage of Salamence (Dake's best Pokemon, which is
Dragon and Flying type). You can find it in the smallest room in Meteor Falls.
On the rectangular piece of land, you will find TM02 (Dragon Claw), which gives
Attack 80 and Accuracey100. Bagon evolves into Shellgon, then into Salamence.
Salamence is like a fire dragon; cannot learn water attacks; but can learn
Flying, Fire, and Dragon attacks.
Beldum: After you defeat Steven (the champion), go to his house in Mossdeep
City. Read the book (Letter) on the table. It says to take the Pokeball. It
contains a Beldum, at level 5. It is a Steel/Psychic type that knows Take Down.
Blaziken or Cumbusken: Recommended moves: If you have a Combusken or
Blaziken, the best moves for it are Ember
(can replace with Flare Kick if desired), Double Kick, and since it is able to
learn a Bird type move, Steel Wing or any other powerful TM flying based move.
Also give it an HM (preferably Cut).
-C-
Castform: After you save the weather institute, talk to the man blocking the
doorway. He will give you the Castform. It changes form, depending on the
weather. It knows Hail, Powder Snow, Rain Dance, and Sunny Day. It is a Normal
type and is at level 25.
Castform (2): You can only get Castform once in the game, but you can breed it. Catch a
Merill (opposite gender to Castform). Go to the Daycare and put the Merill and
Castform in. Return later and talk to the old man standing next to the Daycare.
He will give you an egg. Go back again later, and you will have another egg.
Castform will hatch from the egg at level 5.
Castform: Recommended moves: The best moves for Castform are Blizzard,
Fireblast, Thunder, and
Solar Beam.
Chimecho: Found at Mt. Pyre.
-D-
Deoxys and Jirachi: You cannot get Jirachi and Deoxys during the game. They are given
away through a Nintendo event, much like Mew and Celebi were in previous Pokemon
games.
Dodrio: Other than by evolution, it can be found in the Safari Zone.
-F-
Feebas: Feebas can only be found on Route 119, and is very hard to find.
Feebas only appears in six tiles on the route. The tiles are random, depending
on the popular phrase you used in Dewford. Catching this Pokemon requires a lot
of time and patience. However, when evolved into Milotic this Pokemon is very
useful. To capture Feebas try using "Mudkip Ball" as your popular
phrase in Dewford. Later it turns to "Natural Flowers". Wait until
"Natural Flowers" is the popular phrase or attempt to change it
yourself. To find Feebas, get to Route 119. Start at the bottom and move north.
Stop at the first little lake, immediately after the large patch of tall grass,
and go as far left on the lake shore as you can. Surf, move one tile north, and
fish with a Super Rod. Note: The tile locations may vary from game to game..
-G-
Golduck: Other than by evolution, it can be found in the Safari Zone.
Gorebyss and Huntail: Get the scanner in the abandoned ship. Then, go to Slateport City. Go
to the where the ferry is located and give the scanner to Mr. Stern. He will ask
you to trade for his Deepseascale and the Deepsea Tooth. Choose either one of
them, then give it to a Clamperl. This will raise its stats and allow it to
evolve when traded. To get Gorebyss, give Clamperl the Deepseascale then trade
it to a friend with a link cable. Then, have them trade it back to get Gorebyss.
To get Huntail. give Clamperl the Deepseatooth and do the same thing.
Grimer: Found in the Fiery Path.
Groudon: To find Groudon, go to the Cave Of Origin in Sootopolis City. It will
be on Level 45 when you catch it. Groudon is a Ground type. Its ability is
Drought and it summons Sunlight in battle. Its attacks are Slash: (Power 70,
Accuracy 100), Bulk Up (Power -, Accuracy -), Earthquake (Power 100,
Accuracy100), and Fire Blast (Power120, Accuracy 85). You can only find Groundon
in Pokemon Ruby.
Groudon (2): Go to Cave Of Orgin. When you see Groudon in one of the other caves inside,
you can catch him by using a Master Ball or an Ultra Ball.
Groudon (3): It is best to save the Master Ball because Groudon is a big help. If you
train hard with it and then go to the Eilte Four, it should be a little easier.
Groudon (4): Start with a Treeko and when it levels up, have it learn Solar Beam. Put
Groudon as the first Pokemon in your party and it will use its effect. Treeko or
its evolved form can now use Solar Beam without waiting.
Groudon (5): When trying to catch Groudon in the Cave Of Origin and you do not have very
many Ultra Balls remaining, use Timer Balls due to their efficiency. After a
large amount of turns, they should be very effective and catch Groudon in about
two to five tries.
Groudon (6): Surf and use dive to find your way to Sootopolis. Go up and to the left of
the Pokemon Center. Talk to Steven and he will bring you to a cave. Groudon is
inside. It is a Fire/Ground type and knows Earthquake.
-H-
Heracross: Found in the Safari Zone.
-I-
Illumise: Found on Route 117
-K-
Koffing: Found in the Fiery Path. It may be a shiny version.
Kyogre: To find Kyogre, go to the Cave Of Origin in Sootopolis City. It will
be on Level 45 when you catch it. Kyogre is a Water type. Its ability is Drizzle
and it summons Rain in battle. Its attacks are Body Slam (Power 85, Accuracy
100), Calm Mind (Power -, Accuracy -), Ice Beam (Power 95, Accuracy100), and
Hydro Pump (Power120, Accuracy 80). You can only find Kyogre in Pokemon
Sapphire.
Kyogre (2): To catch Kyogre easier, bring some Net Balls. Net Balls work better on Water
and Bug types. Net Balls can be bought in Mossdeep City's Pokemart.
Kyogre (3): While Kyroge has red health, put him to sleep and you can catch him with a
Poke Ball.
-L-
Latios and Latias: When you get the Master Ball in Team Aqua's/Magma's lair, do not use
it on Kyogre/Groudon. Latios and Latias will eventually appear in your game, and
they are extremely difficult to catch. They will run from route to route.
Latios and Latias (2): Just after you finish the game, on television there will be a report about a
one-of-an-kind Pokemon that is now loose in Hoenn. It will show up all over
Hoenn in the grassy areas. You will only have one chance to catch it. It rarely
appears. It depends on which game you are playing; Latios for Pokemon Ruby and
Latias for Pokemon Sapphire.
Latios and Latias (3): When going after Latios and Latias, always use Repels so you are not
interrupted by other Pokemon.
Latios and Latias (4): To catch Latios easily, make sure that you have Wynaut or Wobbafet because
Latios runs away on the first turn you find it. Have a Master Ball with you.
Latios is level 40 when found, and is only available after defeating the Elite
Four.
Latios and Latias (5): After defeating the Elite Four, go to Littleroot Town. Go up in the grassy
area with the stunt bike and bunny hop around while using Repel, but do not
move. Just hop (hold B) and make sure the first Pokemon in your party is
lower than level 40. After hopping for awhile, you should encounter Latios or
Latias.
Latios and Latias (6): To catch them easier, fly to Fortree City. Then, go south on Route 119. You
may have to fight some trainers. When you defeat all of them, keep going south
until you see a little house. Every time you fly to a different city or change
routes, Latios or Latias flies to a different place. Go into the house, then
exit. Go to your Pokedex and check where it is. Every time you exit the house,
Latios or Latias will fly somewhere else. Keep doing this until it is on your
route. Then, check all of the grassy areas to encounter it.
Latios and Latias (7): Latios will only appear in the right half of the game,: from Routes 112, 110
and 117 over to the right. Latias will only appear on the other routes on the
left side of the game.
Latios and Latias (8): Use the following trick to capture Latias or Latios without a Master Ball.
You will need a Pokemon with a speed of 200 or more, Mean Look (for example,
Zubat,Golbat,or Crobat), and 60 Great Balls or 45 Ultra Balls. If your speed is
high enough, you may go first and use Mean Look to stop it from escaping. Keep
using Great Balls at it at full HP until you have captured it. If you run out of
Great Balls, use Ultra Balls.
Latios and Latias (9): Go to the Safari Zone and capture Wobbuffet. Do not bother training it.
Wobbuffet's ability prevents Latios or Latias to escape. Buy at least 25 Hyper
Potions and 50 Ultra Balls. Latios and Latias will usually first appear on
Routes 121 or122 then flee from there. Once you verse it, you can see its
movements. Make sure Wobbuffet is first in your party. Once you are battling
Latios and Latias, send out Wobbuffet and use Mirror Coat first. Hope that
Latios or Latias will use Psychic. This will turn Latios' or Latias' life to red
health. Psychic will take off less than half of Wobbuffet's health because it is
a Psychic type. After every damaging move is used by Latias or latios,
immediately use a Hyper Potion. Then, keep using Ultra Balls when it does not
attack you 50 % of the time.
-M-
Magikarp: Magikarp can only be caught with an Old Rod.
Magneton: Other than by evolution, it can be found in New Mauville.
Milotic: This is a great Pokemon to have. It is a Water type which learns some
Dragon moves and eventually Recover. Feebas does not evolve into Milotic they
way a normal Pokemon does. To get Feebas to evolve, you must increase the beauty
of it. To increase the beauty, it is best to use Indigo and Liteblue Pokeblocks.
Save some Corn and Aguav Berries to make Pokeblocks with. Feed Feebas a number
of Pokeblocks until its beauty is nearly at maximum. The next time Feebas grows
another level, it will evolve into Milotic.
Minun: Found on Route 110.
Mew: Mew is the only Pokemon that can learn all TMs and HMs. He can only
be caught through a GameShark or CodeBreaker code.
Mudkip: Mudkip is a Water type Pokemon. You can get it as a starter. Mudkip
evolves in to Marshtomp at level 16 and it is a Water/Ground type Pokemon.
Marshtomp evolves later at level 36 to Swampert, a Water/Ground type.
Mudkip (2): Mudkip will evolve to Marshtomp at level 16, then Swampert at level 36. One
of the best moves are Mud Shot, Earthquake, Blizzard, and Surf. Note: When you
get Muddy Water, replace Water Gun with it. Then, when you get Surf, replace
Muddy Water with it.
-N-
Natu, shiny: Go to the Safari Zone area where you can catch Phanpy. Note: You will
need the Acro bike. After you have caught a regular Natu, use the Acro bike to
stay in one place and hop. Sooner or later you will see it. Note: This requires
a lot of time and Safari Balls.
