BUTTON COMBINATION CHEATS

UNLOCK ALL TRACKS AND TEAMS
After "Press Start" appears at the title screen. press:
L, L, R, R, Z, Z, L + R + Z
You will see a message to confirm.

INFINITE TURBOS AND SHIELDS
This effect lasts for only one race and must be re-enabled before the next one.
After "Press Start" appears at the title screen. press:
L + R, Z, L + R, Z
You will see a message to confirm.

INFINITE AMMO
After "Press Start" appears at the title screen. press:
L, R, L, R, L + R, Z
You will see a message to confirm.

WIN XG CAREER MODE RACES
This must be enabled at the main menu before every race: It allows you to win a race no matter if you quit, lose, or die.
After "Press Start" appears at the title screen. press:
R, L, Z, L, R, Z, R, L, Z
You will see a message to confirm.

2X PRIZE MONEY
After "Press Start" appears at the title screen. press:
L, R, Z, L, R, Z, L + R
You will see a message to confirm.

UNLOCK THE EXTREME LAP CHALLENGE
This unlocks an oval track for maximum speed.
On the Main Menu, press:
L, R, L, R, L, R, Z, L + R
You will see a message to confirm.

UNLIMITED SHIELDS AND BOOST
At any point on the title screen, on any controller press (all the way): R, L, Z and repeat this a few times (the timing is a little odd) and you will get a message saying something like:
"P1 Cheat Infinite Shields ON"
It will work for whatever player puts the code in.
This gives you infinite shields and boost power, even in League mode. The other thing you can do is when in League Mode, pause the game and enter the same code. You'll get a similar message, and no matter what happens, when you finish the race, you'll be awarded 1st place and get all the money.
