Where is it in the film?: 10 minutes in
As Ripley arrives at Gateway station she is put in the hospital.
There she gets a visit from Burke who tells her that she's been in hypersleep for 57 years.
Then she starts waving around and screaming as she thinks she has an alien in her stomach, until she suddenly wakes up. It was all a nightmare!!
Later the movie continues on the presumptions that she both met Burke and that she had been asleep for 57 years.
Never was it explained when she actually fell asleep.
